Hanging With The Best…

This past Tuesday I headed to Philly? to hang with some of my favorite fellow photog friends from all over the country.? We shared secrets, showed off our products and did a lot of chit chat and being silly.? I was truly inspired by those around me.?? This is a true group of talented gals! Thanks again to Kristen Kalp for hosting.

Make It Work…

I so felt like I was photographing a model shoot today, what a hot momma. .? I am actually glad it snowed? today, we turned her dining room into a studio and had lots of fun (some pictures a little too personal to show). ? We actually made a make shift dress out of a fabulous scarf that she had in her closet, straight from India.? Isn’t she so cute and tiny, should I mention she is 8 1/2 months pregnant :)

Only Days Away…

This sweet momma to be is due any day now.? And I have to say, I was afraid of wearing her out, but she was such a trooper stomping through the snow with me.? In fact, I think she wore me out. ? Most men tend to gain sympathy weight, I think I caught sympathy tiredness.? I went home and took a nap :)

So, is it a boy or girl…say tuned to find out ;)

Latest UPS Dropoff…

It is always fun to see the UPS or FedEx man/woman swing by the house with some new goodies.? This package was from my fabulous canvas company.? LOVE THEM!?? This particular print is a 20×24, which for those in love with 8x10s, will think this is HUGE.?? I am a believer that for a great family shot,? BIGGER is BETTER.??? Just to visualize the size, I hung it on my wall for a couple snaps.

Please note: The picture is not crooked, my house is :) ? It is 120 years young. Ok, time to hang the kiddies pictures back up.? Of course, now I am loving the 20×24 and am thinking the 16x20s I have up are too small.

The Road to Hana…

It has been a while since I posted some of my 2nd honeymoon photos from Hawaii. I took so many, it is hard to widdle down to my favs and pic the ones I want to post online.? The one thing that is a must in my book in Maui, is the road to Hana.? It is by far the best road trip you will ever make.? This was our 2nd time to Hana, so our main goal was to spend more time at spots we didn’t hit the last time and to go around the complete road.? For those who are not familiar,? the road to Hana is about 52 miles, it has about 600 curves and 59 bridges, most of which can only fit one car.? Highway 31 past Hana was almost un-drivable for? a long time, causing visitors to turn around at Hana and drive back the way you came.?? Maui paved the road, only for it to be damaged again in the 2006 earthquake.?? At some points the road is closed but lucky for us, it was open.?? I am not sure it really saved us anytime from going back the way we came, but it was great new adventure.

I normally like to start the day off with a mocha, but this place had a great selection of tea.

Off the beaten path, I think we are lost…

This bridge was built back in 1910.

Honokalani Black Sand Beach is located in the Wainapanapa State Park. This large beach is set among lava cliffs and the sand is actually small, smooth, lava pebbles.

The Seven Sacred Pools, located at Haleakala National Park, is a series of waterfalls and tranquil pools trails through the O’heo Gulch and flows into the ocean nearby. Unfortunately, the water was too dangerous for us to swim that day.

Some of you know, my dad passed away unexpectedly almost 2 years ago.? I thought this would be a great place to spread some of his ashes.

haw16This waterfall is pretty cool but can be very easily missed.? The road we were driving on was hugging the edge of the cliff, we had to stop the car and look back to see it.? Luckily we were driving a Jeep, so I just stood up in on the chair and snapped this picture before a car came up behind us.

If you look closely in the clouds, you can see a rainbow. haw12

We reached pavement! You can see where the new road starts and old road ends.
