Past, Present and Future…

I was so glad that the early weeks predictions of Saturday thunderstorms held off, and we had wonderful weather this morning. ? This session tied in the past, present and future for this family.? The past being the cute little wagon that mommy brought, that once belonged to her grandfather. One happy little man and his parents, being the present.? And the location of our shoot, being their future.? We shot on the land of their dream home in which they are building, and hope to move in by the end of the summer.?? It is an absolutely gorgeous home and I can’t wait to help them decorate their walls ;)

Showcase…

Here is yet another fabulous treasure I came home to last week. This canvas piece is an absolute work of art.? To truly get an idea of its size, I brought Brayden out to stand next to it.?? This heirloom will surely last a lifetime.

DC

The family and I ran away from NY last week for a nice little family trip with the boys.? The last vacation, Hawaii, they were left behind with the grandparents. So we wanted to have some family time with the boys. ? Don’t worry, I won’t bore you with the 1300 photos I took but I will share a couple of my favorites from our 3 days in DC.? If you have never been, it is a great place to visit.? The National Zoo is free to enter, as well as all of the Smithsonian Museums.

I can’t complain about the weather since it didn’t rain a lot, but we did happen to pick the hottest day to hit the zoo. ? And on the hottest day, why do I feel the need to take 40lbs of photo equipment everywhere?

The one time we did experience some bad weather, was during an evening? out to get some night shots of the monuments. I am not the best landscape shooter, but I thought it would be interesting. ? While taking a break and letting the boys soak there feet, the big bad storm clouds came crashing in.? I put the camera away and we started heading down the reflecting pool towards the Lincoln Memorial. About a quarter of the way down the wind picked up and the rain fell, and it fell hard.? By the time we jogged ourselves up to the basement of the memorial, we were soaked.? At least we weren’t the only ones.? There were about a hundred people taking cover there.? After the rain stopped, the lightning hung around.? When it was finally safe to leave, the storm had left its mark with down trees and? an amazing purple sky.

Another reason we headed to DC the week we did, was to see the Red Sox play the Nationals.? It is so much easier to get tickets to a stadium with 41,ooo seats vs Fenway’s 35,000.?? I have to say, getting off the subway was like getting off the “T” in Kenmore Square.? There were more Red Sox fans than Nationals at this game.? Although the game didn’t turn out in our favor, Kieran kept the crowd in our section entertained with his dance moves and flirting.

Hudson Fest…

I am so happy to announce that one of my photos has been used for the official poster for “Highland Hudson Fest,”? A celebration of the opening of the Walkway Over The Hudson.? There is also a save the date floating around out their with another cute photo on it, but I haven’t seen it yet ;) ? As more details of the celebration come out, I will be sure to report them back to you.? It should be a great event, just not sure you are going to get me out on that walkway :)

Got My Baby Fix…

I have been waiting months to meet this little guy.? He is just as sweet as his momma, whom I met a couple months back at the “Hot Mammas” fundraiser in April.? I took advantage of the beautiful weather and we had a nice morning outside with all the family, including all the grandmas and grandpas.? It is wonderful to see how much this baby is loved and how much joy he brought to his momma’s eyes. She was just glowing.

I have quickly thank Kerry of Jaebird Studio.? I met her a little while back at Waddle n Swaddle and she knit these amazing little hats. As soon as I saw it, I knew I must have one.?? She hooked me up with this sweet little newborn hat.? All hats are custom made and are available at Waddle n Swaddle in Poughkeepsie.

New Product: Session In A Box…

This new product showed up on my front porch just as I got home from vacation, and I have to say it’s “SO FIERCE.” (Gwen, Cindy, Carolyn, & Sally, you are going to LOVE this). ? This custom session box is about 2 inches thick and includes 20 of your favorite session images, mounted on an 8×10 matboard.? You can alternate what images you wish to present on your table top easel or you can even frame them.? This is truly a unique item, especially for those who LOVE to show off their kids ;)
