Jen and Tim, Hastings-On-Hudson…

This has to be one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen.? I am not just saying that because she is a friend of mine, but she just glows happiness and gorgeousness.??? I first met Jen when we worked together? several years ago, when I was an exercise physiologist.? I believe I had just returned from maternity leave and she was expecting her first daughter.?? So there was a lot of mommy and baby talk between us.?? She knew my passion for photography and dream of taking it to another level.? In fact, her daughter was one of the first babies I ever shot as well as the first birth announcement I ever did.?? So when her and Tim got engaged, I was just thrilled that she asked me to shoot her wedding.??? I knew she would be a fun and laid back bride.? When she told me? that her wedding was on the same day as the owner of The Riverview’s son’s birthday party, and there would be a bouncy house, my first question was,? “Can we use the bouncy house?”? And that they did:

The wedding itself was so sweet.? They first remembered those who could not be there for this special day including grandparents and the brides dad.? Because they already have a daughter together, they included her in the ring ceremony by presenting her with her very own “Cinderella” ring.? That just brought tears to my eyes.

After the wedding we had very little time to get through family and wedding party photos, but I did have a moment to steal the bride and groom. I quickly tossed? them into my car and my assistant drove us to Main Street on Hastings-On-Hudson, where we captured some really hot bridal photos.?? The groom reminds me of the lead singer of a British rock band.? Very cool and hansom.? His bride, just stunning!

This wedding reception was like the try outs for “Dancing With The Stars.”? The guests at this wedding has some GREAT moves.? Not sure if that was due to the cocktail hour ;) ? At one point, there was a dance off, jackets came off, and there was break dancing and all.? I do have to mention the DJ, he was just awesome with getting the party started and keeping it going.

Love, Love, Love, This Birth Announcement…

I wish you could see and hold this birth announcement in person.? All of my cards are printed on a fine art linen paper (with an option of 100% recycled paper) with parchment envelope.? This card was recently printed for a returning client of mine for her newborn daughter. Did I mention I love this card? (last name has been removed for the family)

1st Anniversary Celebration…

Last week some friends and I attended the 1st Anniversary of Elizabeth Boutique on Davis Ave in Poughkeepsie.?? Some of you maybe familiar with her store and her great goodies, or? you may recognize EB? from the “Hot? Mammas” fundraiser event we co-hosted last April.? As for the celebration itself, I finally snagged myself the Origami shirt I have had my eye on for the longest time.? A fab shirt you can wear like 10 different ways, gotta love that.

Happy Anniversary Beth and here’s to another fantastic year!

Kelly and Derek’s Wedding, Brooklyn…

It was a beautiful, but hot, day in the city yesterday.?? I was thrilled for Kelly and Derek that the weather held out since the weather reports for the weekend were not looking all that great.? The rain and thunderstorms stayed to the north while it was dry but humid in the city.? I met the bride for pre-wedding preparations at the W Hotel in Union Square, where the? talented Terese Bennet did the bride’s make-up.? Terese was such a doll, she not only did Kelly’s make-up, but helped the mother and sister of the bride, dress her as well. I have to say, I loved the brides dress.? I am love things that are unique and different, and this dress was just that.

After leaving the W for the Brooklyn Promenade, the bride was early and the bus with the guests were late.? So, we headed off down the street to the beautiful Brownstones for some bridal photos.? While there, we came across 2 people promoting the opening of Mini Max Toys & Cuts. I have to thank them for letting us borrow their balloons for a couple of shots. :)

The wedding took place amongst a group of loved friends and family, with a fabulous view of the Brooklyn Bridge and city skylines.? Many onlookers stopped and celebrated with the couple as well.

The best part of the day for me was exploring Brooklyn and its charming buildings. I have to thank the bride and groom for being patient with me as I dragged them, as well as the driver, from building to building.? At least they got to enjoy some gelato complements of the sweet shoppe we stopped into. Did you know you need photo permits in some parts of the city?? I sure didn’t. I still got the shot ;)
