Hanna Andersson Shoot…

Well, this session could have been an ad shoot for Hanna Andersson with these 4 beautiful sisters and their baby brother on their orchard.   I can’t express how much I loved this session.  It was on overcast day, not too hot,  all the girls were so excited, couldn’t wait to get their pictures taken and were all perfectly dressed. I loved seeing the personalities of each one of them shine through in our one on one time and in the group shots.  I might have to refer all my clients to their mommy on how to style for a session.

I also found it funny that I was photographing 4 girls and a boy the day after 3 girls and a boy. Alright, who has 6 kids, bring it on!

And Then Comes Boy…

The first time I  photographed this  family was a couple years ago when the youngest daughter was just a baby.  Finally after 3 girls, this family has welcomed a  little boy, proudly named after his daddy.  I was originally suppose to photograph his birth, but he came 3 weeks early and I was out of town. I was so sad to miss his birth, however I got to meet him on his 7 day birthday.   His mommy’s friend knit him the sweet little cocoon that he wore, and I have to say, I want a couple for myself. (HINT HINT) I have seen a ton on ETSY, but nothing compared to the thickness of this one.  Baby obviously loved it too, he slept like a champ while bundled up in it. However,  the moment I took him out, it didn’t matter how many heaters I had on, he wanted back in.

His big sisters were very patient in waiting for me to take baby’s pictures until it was their turn.  How sweet they all were in their pretty blue and yellow dresses.

Giving Is Awesome, Family 2…

Thaddeus has to be one of the strongest little boys I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.  Last Christmas he was nominated as one of my “Giving is Awesome” recipients and after reading his story, I knew I had to meet him.  Since he was an infant, Thaddeus has suffered from seizures and has been in and out of the hospital for too much time of his 18 months of his life.  I have to admit, I showed my mommy weakness during our shoot when I broke down in tears.  I just couldn’t hold them back.  This little guy has been through so much and he has more strength than most adults I know.

This little boy has truly touched my life and I feel like a better person having met him.

Baby Girl #3…

A couple weeks back I met with this beautiful momma and her girls for a maternity shoot at their home.  A month later, we now have a new star of the show, baby girl #3.  I got a glimpse of what life with 3 kids is going to be like when we welcome our 3rd boy this summer, complete love an joy with a dose of  craziness.   Of course, it is all worth it.  One of my favorite parts of doing a newborn shoot, is getting my hands on these tiny little babies.  It is very time consuming but I love every minute I get to hold one of these sweet and tiny little babies only days old.

Project 52, Texture…

This Mother’s Day, my darling hubby surprised  the boys and I with a trip to NYC.  He got us tickets to the King Tut Exhibit at the Discovery Times Square Exposition, a must see!  Unfortunately, no cameras allowed inside.  On the outside however, that is a different story.   Those who follow me or have worked with me know how much I love shooting on location, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE texture.  I am always looking for a shooting back drop that provides great texture, whether it be brick, stone,  cement, etc.   NYC is a big backdrop of texture.  On our long walk to dinner, this wall just stuck out to me because the variety of texture.   I would love to start shooting children and couples more often in the city one day,  just endless possibilities.
