Shhh, Don’t Tell Dad…

I do a lot of “don’t tell dad” shoots, I might have to add them to my price list.  Last weekend I met up these sweet kids and their dog at Lawerence Farms down in Newburgh. They told dad they were going to the Vet.  I do have to thank Lawrence Farms for allowing this family to bring their teddy bear puppy dog along for the ride.  He is a big ball of doggy mush.  So sweet!!    The weather lately has been a little off.  You wear a sweeter, you turn your AC on in your car.  You dress for September and get a swift kick of what feels like late November weather.  This shoot was a little on the chiller side although the sun was out and there wasn’t a cloud to be found in the sky.   We had a great morning which of course ended with cider donuts and some fresh cider.

So if you know this family, please don’t tell dad you saw his family here until after Christmas.  That is as long as the dog keeps the secret until then.

For The Holidays, Ornament Cards…

New this holiday season, ornament cards.  For those who like something a little bit different and are trying to upstage their holiday card from the year before. These cards are 5×5 round and are printed on a fine art linen paper.  Holiday sessions are fully booked, but these cards will be available as announcements, save the dates, and thank you cards as well.

A Girl and Her Dogs…

It is truly and honor to be asked to photograph special moments and times in people’s lives.  It is even a bigger honor when they come back year after year. One of my favorites is photographing my previous newborns, for their first birthday. It is like watching my babies grow.  Last year I met this little sweetie, and her puppies, just weeks after she was born.  For those of us who had dogs before we had kids, our dogs were our babies.  Jack and Jessie are the 4 legged babies in this house.  And we never want to see our babies sick, so I my heart sunk when I noticed that Jessie was missing a leg, lost to cancer.  Jessie such a strong dog, you would never have known she was sick.  She was running around and as happy as she was last time I saw her.  Jack was like my left hip and followed me everywhere, I would take him home if I could.  And of course,  little Miss M is running around too.  Growing up quick before our eyes.

It is extremely hard to get all eyes on the camera when photographing a family of 5, even harder when 2 of the 5 are dogs.  So I can say I am thrilled I was able to have grabbed the family photo I did.

Happy Anniversary Walkway Over The Hudson…

This weekend we commemorate the  Grand Opening of the Walkway Over The Hudson.  I was very lucky to be an invited  to photograph this event as well as several others over the opening weekend.  One of my favorite shots is actually of the Mid Hudson Bridge, taken from the Walkway the night of the Illuminations Walk.  I have donated several copies of this print to local fundraisers, now I am giving one away to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Walkway opening, as well as the connection of the Walkway to the rail trail in Highland.

This 12×18 image is printed and mounted on a fine art linen paper.  Want to win it?  Earn an entrance for each of the items listed below:
