Welcomed With Love, Hudson Valley Newborn Photographer…

Something was in the water this week because babies were being born left and right.  I was at the hospital 3 out of 6 days this past week.  I even got a sneak peek on a set of triplets there were in the nursery.  This is the little guy who started it all.  We only shot mommy’s maternity photos a couple of weeks ago and next thing you know I am getting a text that it was time.  Momma had a quick and wonderful deliveary and looked beyond fanatatic for just having a baby less than 24 hours before these photos were taken.  It kind of wasn’t fair.

Anyway, he is tiny and precious and full of love.  I am bummed I missed big sister’s reaction to meeting her baby brother, but I am hoping she will show me her love for him next week when we meet for his newborn session.  Congrats again to the growing “M” family!

Comfort Of Home, Hudson Valley Maternity Photographer…

Sometimes there is no place like home.  That is where I met up with this couple who are expecting their first baby in just a couple weeks (isn’t she the cutest!)  And of coarse, puppy dog joined us for the most of the shoot as well.  She wouldn’t have had it any other way either, if we walked two feet from her, she cried for her humans.  She is just a big cuddle bug that wants her people close at all times.  With that big floppy toungue hanging out, you can’t say dogs don’t smile.

Another special quest appearance was made by mommy’s special bear.  Why is the bear special?  Well, it was her’s when she was a little one.  I have one of those too in my house, Roger.  Roger was bear resides on the top shelf of the bookshelf in my son’s room.   Although he is in Clinton’s room, he is the bear you look at and don’t touch.  That is mommy’s!  Yes, 33 years later and Roger still is a soft spot for me.

I am so looking forward to meeting baby Nolan in just a couple weeks!!!

Robert & Cristina E-Session, Hudson Valley Wedding Photographer…

I recently met up with Robert and Cristina in Central Park for their engagement session.  I have to say, my clients are picking some great spots to do their shoots.  Not that Central Park hasn’t seen its share photoshoots, but for me, it is a new playground.  It was my first time really getting to walk around in the park, never mind shooting there.  The day was beyond gorgeous and everyone was out enjoying the weather, including like 10,000 bikers.  One of my favorite shots of the day is the first one below, you would never have guessed there were thousands of bikers right behind me.

We still have some time till their nuptials next year, but for friends of  Robert and Cristina: April 28th, 2012, SAVE THE DATE.

Natasha & Matthew, Hudson Valley Wedding Photographer…

Finally, after 2 years of shooting weddings I finally shot one right here in Poughkeepsie.  Not that I don’t mind the traveling  around, but after working an 13 hour day, a 10 minute drive home is pretty sweet.  With the weather being so on and off, you never knew what kind of weather April would bring, but Natasha and Matthew lucked out and had a beautiful day.  They were married at the sweetest chapel in Poughkeepsie, Our Lady of Rosary Church, which actually hides behind the now condemned Psychiatric Hospital off of route 9.   After the vows, the party headed over the Poughkeepsie Grand where DJ Bri kept the music rockin all night long.  At the end of the evening, the guests were treated to the most amazing venetian dessert table I have ever seen.  But they had me at the cake, hello RED VELVET!  I was luck enough to score a piece :)

Congrats to Natasha and Matthew.  I hope you had an amazing day and I thank you for having us be apart of it.

Two Princes, Hudson Valley Newborn Photographer…

A couple months ago I met up with this family to photograph their maternity photos, now they are proud to introduce baby boy #2 into their family.  What a little darling he is with his full head of hair.  And with another prince in the house, mommy still remains Queen of her castle.
