Flowers At Mohonk, Hudson Valley Children Photographer…

I feel like I have been waiting forever for this session to come.  I originally met this family last fall at a wedding I photographed in Cornwall.  Mommy and daughter served in the wedding party. One of my favorite photos, of that day was of all the flower girls, including this sweetie, running circle in the closet (it was a monster closet).  Back then we talked about getting together for a portrait shoot and here we finally are.  Now that I think about it, I am pretty sure I have photographed half of the wedding party :)   One more half to go.

You didn’t have to twist my arm at all when mom suggested going to Mohonk Mountain House for our session.  Their family has stayed there on many occasions and the grounds are just breath taking.  Mom and I joked about leaving Dad with the kids and running off to the spa.

I had a wonderful afternoon and thank you very much for a beautiful day!

It’s Raining, It’s Pouring, Hudson Valley Maternity Photographer…

You would think that we were in Seattle with the amount of rain we have had already this spring.  The day of this session, it was torrential downpours for hours.  Normally I am not one to jump on canceling sessions because the weather can change at any minute, but about 2 hours before we were suppose to start, I pulled the plug.  Lucky for me, Lori convinced me to come out and wouldn’t you know, the clouds parted and by 4pm, the skies were overcast with a touch of blue here and there.  Of course, I was very excited to finally meet her.  I have been emailing  back and forth and with Lori for some time now, and  every email she has me laughing harder and harder.

Soon I will be expecting a phone call that baby boy is on his way, can’t wait!!

California Baby, Hudson Valley Child Photographer…

Last week I was lucky to spend a morning with this fiery red head and his parents.  They are  here from sunny California, visiting family.  And it just so happened that the day of our shoot was his first birthday!!   Happy Birthday cool little dude and thank you for sharing part of your day with me. Maybe we can play again next year!

Jenn and Ryan E-Session, Connecticut Wedding Photographer…

I am super excited about working with this couple.  Not only because they are so darn cute together but because I went to college with the bride.  I spent 4 years with her at Southern and now I get to be with her as she celebrates such an important day in her life.  For their engagement shoot, we met up in a special town to them.  After 90 minutes of back road driving from NY to CT, I finally arrived in Litchfield, CT and was instantly in love.  I could shoot here all day.   This was the type of town where everyone says hello and and go away for a week, leaving their front doors unlocked.   It had such a warm and wonderful community feel.

Thank you Jenn and Ryan for trusting me with such a job and I look forward to October!

Mike and Jenn Are Married, Hudson Valley Wedding Photographer…

I originally met this couple last summer when I was so pregnant, my stomach entered the door about a minute before the rest of my body did.   We shot their engagement session last fall at Lake Minnewaska.   That day was such a blast, all we did was goof off, play in some really cold water and laugh throughout the whole session.  Now here we are, they are married and I now have a 9 month old, and we are still laughing.  I know it goes against wedding tradition, but this bride and groom did a first look, when the bride and groom see each other for the first time before the wedding.  I have to say, I love the first look.  We had 2 hours for wedding bridal photos, more goofing off and relaxation time before the wedding even began.  After the ceremony, the are about 20 minutes of family photos and the bride and groom have plenty of time to enjoy their cocktail hour.

Going into this wedding, I knew I was working not only a fantastic couple, but my “Dream Team” as well.  I Do Movies, laV Beauty and DJ Bri.  It isn’t really work when you are making art and hanging with good people at the same time right?   Although dark clouds hung out through the day,  there was not a drop of rain was to be seen.  The wedding itself was beautiful and one of my favorite parts of the day was when Jenn and Mike walked  down the isle and I got the first hug from.  I love the relationships I have with my clients.

To Jenn and Mike, thank you so much for having me be such a part of your beautiful day. The story doesn’t end here for us, bring on some babies!!

Girl Of Summer, Hudson Valley Child Photographer…

This past week I got to spend a nice hot morning with this sweet little thing.  The first time I met mommy was about 15 months ago at the Live Love Learn fundraiser, when this doll was still in her mommy’s tummy.   Today we  all got to hang out, play some music, and scoot around the house.  It was pretty hot out early this day, so I enjoyed hanging out in the nice air conditioned house.  It helps that mommy is a great decorator!  Thanks again for a great morning and I look forward to hanging out again soon!
