And Baby Makes 3, Hudson Valley Maternity Photographer…

When my friend Kara found out she was pregnant with baby 3, she not only told me via instant message, but she also booked me on the spot.  I was not only thrilled with the honor, but overwhelmed with happiness for her and her family.  I have known Kara for a long time and I know how much of a blessing this baby was.

I have a great past with her kids, one of my favorite sessions when I first started my business.   Both of them were fabulous little hams again for me, even thought the weather was a bit brisk.  With a late December session, we were glad to get away with a cool breeze versus 3 feet of snow.

The story only starts here, more to come….

Kristen and Darren’s E-Shoot, Hudson Valley Wedding Photographer…

Early last year I shot my first boudoir mini session.  One of my girls was participating as a surprise for her boyfriend, Happy Valentine’s to him!!!  Well, apparently he loved the photos so much, as well as her, he put a ring on it!   So when Kristen emailed me about shooting her wedding, I was extremely gitty.    We met on a lovely day this past fall to shoot their engagement session.  Most of you in the area will recognize our background, the Culinary Institute of America.   I have been her many of times, but why can’t the bakery ever be open on weekends????

Anyway, thank you to Kristen and Darren for a FABULOUS and fun afternoon.  I can’t wait to shoot your special day!

Devon and Mark, Hudson Valley Wedding Photographer…

Taking a look back to last fall, I met up with one of my fabulous couples for an engagement shoot.  It was a wonderful evening on the Hudson with amazing light.  We had some play time with their children, the furry and fluffy ones, and then off to the Walkway.  And lets talk about the shoes, I joked with Devon that she was going to blow the shoe photo up, poster size and hang it up over the bed.   The shoes were that FAB!!

I am so looking forward to their wedding this summer in Poughkeepsie.  See you two soon!

Pin Up Girls, Part 2, Hudson Valley Photographer…

HOTNESS!!! That’s all I need to say!

Pin Up Girls, Part 1, Hudson Valley Photographer…

I love to give myself a project.  My projects are a way for me to step outside of my box and to  have some good creative fun.  Earlier last year, I had someone send me an email and asked if I would ever consider doing a Pin Up Girl shoot.  Let me think, “HECK YA!”  I have eyeying Pin Up for sometime and jumped on the idea.  I got my team on board and off we went.

What I love about Pin Up, is that curves are SOOOOO welcome.   I know body image can be a sensitive issue, I constantly hear, “When I lose 20 lbs, I am so doing that.”   Pin Up embraces curves and helps us LOVE what we got. Marylyn Monroe was a Pin Up girl, and a size 10.

I of course, had a wonderful team behind me:  Bella Luci Salon provided hair and make-up, and Karma Lounge, my hidden gem, provided the location. The ladies provided their wardrobe, and did a killer job!

I look forward to doing this again soon!!

Peanut Butter Oreo Cookies…

Totally off topic, but I wanted to share this fun treat that I found and made with my own twist.  Being that today is the Super Bowl, I thought I would make a fun football themed treat.  I went on a mad search for the football shaped Oreo cookies, but couldn’t find them in the stores, so I used double stuff.  Just on a note,  this doesn’t work well with Reduced Fat Oreos.  Besides, with this treat what is the point of “reduced fat?”   I am no “PRO” dessert maker, so they do not look perfect, but they sure taste yummy!!!
