Surprise Photography, Best of 2010

Digging through my three different hard drives, I 1) can’t believe how fast this year went by and 2) feel so luck to have had such a wonderful year. Each year seems to get bigger and better, I hope this never ends. I am so lucky to have had such a wonderful group of clients to work with this year and thankful they you all spread the word about Surprise Photography. The Organic Bloom, Cutsom Framing…

Surprise Photography is excited to offer you the opportunity to liven up your personal photo gallery with some fresh new frames!  The Organic Bloom specializes in “curvy, spunky, and elegant” custom frames.  They come in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes, making them easy to coordinate with any decorating scheme.   Surprise Photography will be holding a sample sale at Waddle n Swaddle in both their Poughkeepsie and Rhinebeck locations before introducing the full line to our boutique in 2011.  Make sure you stop in to see these cool, funky frames in person and do some shopping!   The sample sale will take place on the following dates:

Saturday, December 11 from 12:00-2:00 at Waddle n Swaddle, 32 Raymond Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY.

Sunday, December 12 from 12:00-2:00 at Waddle n Swaddle, 41 E. Market Street, Suite 4, Rhinebeck, NY.

For The Holidays, Ornament Cards…

New this holiday season, ornament cards.  For those who like something a little bit different and are trying to upstage their holiday card from the year before. These cards are 5×5 round and are printed on a fine art linen paper.  Holiday sessions are fully booked, but these cards will be available as announcements, save the dates, and thank you cards as well.

Happy Anniversary Walkway Over The Hudson…

October 1, 2010 – 10:00 pm

This weekend we commemorate the  Grand Opening of the Walkway Over The Hudson.  I was very lucky to be an invited  to photograph this event as well as several others over the opening weekend.  One of my favorite shots is actually of the Mid Hudson Bridge, taken from the Walkway the night of the Illuminations Walk.  I have donated several copies of this print to local fundraisers, now I am giving one away to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Walkway opening, as well as the connection of the Walkway to the rail trail in Highland.

This 12×18 image is printed and mounted on a fine art linen paper.  Want to win it?  Earn an entrance for each of the items listed below:

Anniversary Celebration…

Waddle n Swaddle, Elizabeth Boutique and Surprise Photography will join together for an Anniversary Celebration on Thursday, September 23rd from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The event will be held at Waddle n Swaddle and Elizabeth Boutique and outside the stores on the corner of Raymond Avenue and Davis Avenue, two blocks north of Vassar College.

Waddle n Swaddle, a mother and baby essentials boutique will celebrate its 3rd anniversary; Elizabeth Boutique, a women’s clothing and accessories boutique, their 2nd anniversary and Surprise Photography, a custom children’s portrait and wedding photographer, their 1st anniversary.

The event will include refreshments catered by Lola’s Catering and gift bags will be given to the first 50 guests.  Customers can shop the new Fall lines and enjoy special in-store Anniversary savings.  Staff will be on hand to answer questions and assist customers throughout the evening.  Community members are encouraged to come and celebrate and enjoy great food & giveaways.

Waddle n Swaddle, Elizabeth Boutique and Surprise Photography are local women owned business that have a large following throughout the Hudson Valley.  “I am thrilled with our new location next to Elizabeth Boutique and I am excited to be able to celebrate our anniversaries together”, says Jenn Sullivan, owner of Waddle n Swaddle. “ It’s great that we both cater to local women’s needs and that our customers do shop at both stores.” “We have created our own little shopping hub here in Arlington”, adds Beth Madsen, owner of Elizabeth Boutique.

New Product, Image Folio…

I have been looking into some great new products to include with my product line.  I have some great samples that I am dying to show off, but first I am going to show you you this great image folio, a modern way to put your images on display.   This folio is not only great for my clients, but they would make great gifts for new grandparents or the parents of the bride and groom. Image folios include a custom photographic cover and are complete with two image panels on the inside left and right.   I saw this and I had to whip up a sample for my studio, my Clinton being the featured model of course.
