Lauren & Scott Are Married, New Jersey Wedding Photographer…

You might remember this beautiful couple from their engagement shoot at the Brooklyn Bridge earlier this year.  Well, only months later they were married in a beautiful, multi-faith ceremony in East Hanover, NJ.  The bride was just stunning, resembling Carrie Underwood, in her Enzoani dress and hot red shoes. This couple did their first look at a lovely park, where apparently a lot of brides and grooms like to do their photos.  It was a tad humorous for everyone when one of the other wedding parties was wearing the same bridesmaid color, obviously a great choice.

Thank you Lauren and Scott for trusting me with such and important day, and thank you to Jeff and Kim for sending them my way.  I truly felt like a family member that day, and it was great to finally meet some of my Facebook Fan Page stalkers.

Irene, Not a Fan…

I am going to be honest, even with all the talk of this FIERCE storm that took over the airways, I really didn’t think we would see much storm or damage at all.  My neighbors had family staying with them, who were evacuated form NYC.  Who would have thought they would see more of a mess here than there.  Throughout the morning we saw much rain but very little wind.  Hubby had to empty large trash cans of water away from our house every 20 minutes or so, so that our basement didn’t get flooded.

After the rain stopped around 1:30, that is when all the trouble began.  A transformer across the street blew, causing us to all lose power.   I am still unsure where the water came from, a broken levy or over filled pond, but an hour after just peeking at the water on the street, it was now a roaring river.   Our neighbors across the street had water going in their front door and out the back.

I walked down our hill with my point n shoot,  to see something I thought I would never see, my neighbors house completely surrounded by water.  Front yard, back yard, just water.  It was a very emotional site and my heart skipped a beat. These were images you saw on TV, not a half mile down the street from your house. I could see people stranded on their front porch, there car completely underwater.  When my husband said the water was up to the bottom of the stop sign, he wasn’t kidding.  Around the corner, Mariner’s was completely devastated.

I am so sad for my little town.  Power is still out, I had to escape to Poughkeepsie to post these images.

The water just took over the front and backyards of these homes.  The streets caved to the pressure. Later in the evening, the blue house was almost completely covered with water.

The top of my street:  little water one minute, the next we had a new river.

Zimmer Brothers, Hudson Valley Commercial Photographer…

Recently I teamed up with my neighbor and local jeweler, Zimmer Brothers, for a Commercial shoot to promote their Hearts On Fire diamond center.  What girl doesn’t LOVE diamonds!!!  The couple in our shoot was apart of an online contest run on the Zimmer Brothers Facebook Fan Page.  Although they are not engaged yet, I am sure he got a great idea of what would make his beautiful girlfriend happy :)

In Memory, Hudson Valley Pet Photographer…

For many of us who are pet owners, we consider our four legged creatures apart of our family, one of our children. Many of my sessions involve the family pet(s).    This past week I learned the sad news of two families who lost their dogs to illness. My deepest sympathies go out to these families.  Rest in peace puppies.

Dogs are not our whole life,
but they make our lives whole.
-Roger Caras

And The Winners Are…

I will be in touch with all of you on how to claim your prizes.  CONGRATS!!!!
