In an effort to join the battle against childhood cancer, the BabyMine Playgroup will host an Alex?s Lemonade Stand at Stop & Shop on Saturday, July 25th, from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM, on South Road, Poughkeepsie, New York. BabyMine Playgroup is a Moms Meetup with more than 150 members devoted to parenting, supporting each other, and showing children the importance of bettering our community. The members of BabyMine Playgroup decided that Alex’s Lemonade Stand provided the perfect fit as the members have the opportunity to help a cause and make a difference in the lives of children who are diagnosed with pediatric cancer.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra ?Alex? Scott (1996-2004). At the age of 4, Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of volunteers across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex?s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity,20has raised more than $25 million towards fulfilling Alex?s dream of finding a cure, funding over 100 research projects nationally.
