Here she is again, baby Beech Tree.  This session was the  last in our “Welcoming Me” series.  In the womb, in the hospital and now at home, we have documented some very important moments in growing of this family.  I have to say, I love this couple, they are just great people to be around.  I am kind of sad our little journey is over, but hope in the long run it is not.  This sweet little thing mad me laugh so hard and has a great story that her parents will be sharing for a long time.  I will keep you guessing though.  Hopefully in a year from now you will see little baby Beech Tree again.

The top accessory/prop for photos this year, the dog!  I love dogs, so when a client asks if they can incorporate their dog into their photo, I’m like heck ya!  I always felt as though having a dog was one of the best ways to prep oneself for parenthood.   They rely on you to care for them, feed them, love them and clean up after them. I think that is why dog owns have such attachments to their pets and consider them to be one of their babies. Well on this day, I got to hang with first born and big brother to be,  Lucky.  What a cool pup and by coincidence we walked by a store called just that, “Lucky.”   In a couple more weeks we get to meet Lucky’s new sibling, so stay tuned.

What I love about my clients, is their appreciation for photography and the art that it is.  When I walked into this couple’s home, I could see their love for photography right away.  Their house was decorated with images from their wedding, taken by one of the best wedding photographers in the Hudson Valley.   I was honored to get to hang with these two and their puppy dog as we begin the documentation of welcoming their first baby into their family.  Sorry puppy, first “human” baby ;)

Mommy’s belly was so tiny, I had to get her to stick it out just so we could see it a little bit more.  I am looking forward to the phone call to come meet baby at the hospital.  Stay turned for more!

What a great week for me.  I got the pleasure to meet two newborns, just 24 hours old, within days of one another.  This little man joined the world just days before the new year.  I always love to see how the older siblings take in their new baby brother or sister in the hospital.  It can be an bit of overwhelming experience for them, yesterday they were the baby, today they are an older sibling, they are spending a lot of time in a strange room and there are a lot of cool buttons to play with on Mommy’s bed.  I look forward to seeing this little guy again at his home on the ranch as well as meeting his older brother as well.   Stay tuned for more.

Over the holiday vacation I got to meet with two families from out of state, one from Florida and another from Tennessee. Although I consider each one of my sessions special, my visitors from Tennessee were extra special. Richard and Caroline are old friends from back in the college days. Richard and my husband were in the same fraternity and we even attended each others wedding. Since graduating, we moved to New York and they settled in  Tennessee.  This was the first time we got the pleasure to meet their kids. And what great kids they are. The oldest is just a clone of his daddy and the youngest has eyelashes that any woman would pay good money for.

I had a wonderful afternoon with them at the Bank Square Coffee House in Beacon and can’t thank them enough for including a visit with me during their holiday visit home.
