So yes, major set backs over here thanks to Miss Irene and the stealing of my power for WAY too long.  I am defiantly not a contestant for SURVIVOR.  I can’t even deal with having no access to the outside world or the internet. Yes, I love my modern technology.

A couple weeks ago, when the weather was rockin, I met up with my favorite redhead who defenatly challanged me in a creative way I really needed.  I tend to avoid certain shooting locations, due to overuse syndrome.  I am always out for new locations but when my clients insist on an old spot, I need to challenge myself t make it new to me.  And Miss V, thank you for that challenge, I needed it more than I knew.  I can’t wait for my next challenge!

A girl after my own heart!

Irene, Not a Fan…

I am going to be honest, even with all the talk of this FIERCE storm that took over the airways, I really didn’t think we would see much storm or damage at all.  My neighbors had family staying with them, who were evacuated form NYC.  Who would have thought they would see more of a mess here than there.  Throughout the morning we saw much rain but very little wind.  Hubby had to empty large trash cans of water away from our house every 20 minutes or so, so that our basement didn’t get flooded.

After the rain stopped around 1:30, that is when all the trouble began.  A transformer across the street blew, causing us to all lose power.   I am still unsure where the water came from, a broken levy or over filled pond, but an hour after just peeking at the water on the street, it was now a roaring river.   Our neighbors across the street had water going in their front door and out the back.

I walked down our hill with my point n shoot,  to see something I thought I would never see, my neighbors house completely surrounded by water.  Front yard, back yard, just water.  It was a very emotional site and my heart skipped a beat. These were images you saw on TV, not a half mile down the street from your house. I could see people stranded on their front porch, there car completely underwater.  When my husband said the water was up to the bottom of the stop sign, he wasn’t kidding.  Around the corner, Mariner’s was completely devastated.

I am so sad for my little town.  Power is still out, I had to escape to Poughkeepsie to post these images.

The water just took over the front and backyards of these homes.  The streets caved to the pressure. Later in the evening, the blue house was almost completely covered with water.

The top of my street:  little water one minute, the next we had a new river.

Finally, Rudy’s parents are legit!!  For those of you not familiar with Rudy, peek HERE.   There was NO doubt that the day was HOT, nothing went off 100% on the timeline, but I can say, the day was wonderful, the bride was gorgeous and the party was on!!    The wedding itself itself took place at Marist College, where the bride is an alumni.  Prior to the wedding, we hit up the groom’s alma mater, The CIA for their first look.  There is nothing better on one’s wedding day, than to see the look on the bride and groom as they see their spouse to be for the first time.  When Angus looked at Jenn, you can tell she took his breath away.

The reception took place at Rolling Greens at Dutchess Golf and Country Club, in Poughkeepsie.  It was my first time there, and I can’t wait to go back.  They treated me like gold so I can only imagine how well they treated the bridal party.

Congratulations again to Angus and Jennifer, all the best wishes to you and your life together in Atlanta!!

My Baby Boy, 1 Today!!

My mommy emotions are on a crazy roller coaster ride today, full of laughs and tears.  My baby boy is no longer a baby, today he turns one.  His first year has been nothing but complete joy.  He is just one happy little man who draws attention everywhere we go.  His brothers are overly obsessed with him and I can just see the look in Clinton’s eyes that he can’t wait to join them and the trouble they get into.  Although it saddens me to know there will be no more baby feet in this house, with Clinton our family is complete.

Happy Birthday Clinton!!

My recent track record for all momma’s is pretty much, you are going to go late.  Last year if I did maternity photos, you either went early or on time.  This year, at least a week late.  My apologies especially in this summer heat.  I think it’s me.  My little Clinton went a week late after my first 2 were 3.5 and 2 weeks early.  This has rubbed off onto all my momma’s.

This momma was no exception, she too went late.  Of course, all babies are well worth it!  This little guy was just perfect and  LOVED having his picture taken.  His newborn session was no exception either, more to come.

Here’s to a new family!

This little sweetie is no stranger to my camera, this is our 3rd go around and it never gets old.  Her fun and spunky attitude makes her a dream to photograph. This time around we got some additional play time with Mommy and Daddy.
