My Jersey Crew, New Jersery Maternity Photographer…

This is my 2nd time photographing this family.  The first time we met was just weeks after I delivered Clinton.  It was such a great session amongst a field of sunflowers and open blue skies.  I remember being blown away the next day when she messaged me that her water broke. I literately photographed her at the hospital with my newborn strapped to my chest.  Multi tasting! This time I headed to Jersey on a cool winter day with overcast skies, can we say complete opposites!  I loved our location, its always so fun to go somewhere new and fresh.   And Kim, just a dream momma to photograph and fun to hang out with.  Baby girl did come but due to the flu I missed her session at the hospital.

Mr. Peanut…

You might recognize this new mommy from her maternity shoot last week, Field Of Dreams.  Like the movie, “If you build it, he will come,” well, we shot it and he came.   Just a day after we met, I got an email and it looked as though baby boy decided it was time to make his way to this world, a couple weeks early.  It seems like if you need to induce labor, book your maternity session with Surprise Photography!   I normally wouldn’t bring my children on a shoot, but being that Clinton himself is only a couple weeks old and this shoot was down in southern New York, I brought him along as my assistant.  Thank goddness for a great little carrier, I had Clinton  strapped to my chest and he was passed out the whole time.  Babies first playdate.

Thank you again for having me come photograph you sweet little peanut.  Hospital shoots are my favorite and it is such an honor to be included in such a special moment.  See you all soon!

Field Of Dreams…

Yes, it has been a long week between blog posts.  The past week has been a blur, filled with 5 shoots, party planning and of course, lots of being mommy.  Speaking of mommy, I first met this mommy to be a year ago, by random chance, when walking back from the Grand Illuminations Celebration of the Walkway Over The Hudson.  I was walking next to her an noticed her shootsac.  We started talking and I gave her my card.  A couple months back she contacted me about doing her maternity and newborn photos.  We finally met again last week for our shoot and had the perfect evening sun.   Sunflowers and mountains made for the perfect backdrop.

I am grateful that she was willing to drive up from New Jersey to meet me since it is hard to travel too far from baby Clinton right now.  I am also grateful that we did our shoot when we did, the next day I got an email that her water broke.  Coming soon, newborn photos!

Miss New Jersey…

Yesterday Mother Nature once again heard my pleas, and held out on the rain.  So far this year she has been good to me, knock on wood, and I really needed it Saturday since this sweet family came up from New Jersey to hang with me for the morning.   Little Miss “E” was just super cute and daddy did a great job dancing and while mommy and I sang a chorus of Music Together songs.  All together we kept this sweet little one was well entertained.  Not like she really needed it, she was so good that our shoot was over in no time!

It was wonderful to meet this family and I am so flattered that they came to NY to see me. I hope they enjoyed the rest of their visit here and I will see you all in a few weeks!
