Best Of The Hudson Valley, Hudson Valley Child Photographer…

The “Best of” always features the most fabulous types of food, drink and shopping in the Vally.  However, the arts are very under represented on the ballot.

This year I am really pushing to get more artists recognized fortheir contribution to the Valley.   Although there is no official ballot option, there is a “Fill in your own category”  slot.

I would love for you to consider filling in that slot with:

Surprise Photography, Best Children’s Portrait Photographer

I would be HONORED to be the first in this catagory, and would have to celebrate with my clients in a big way!!!

Here is where I need you HELP!!!

What you need to do, is follow this LINK:  http://www.hvmag.com/Hudson-Valley-Magazine/Best-Of-Hudson-Valley-Ballot-2012/

And at the very end where you see “Fill in your category,”  fill in Surprise Photography, Best Children’s Portrait Photographer

Thank you and lets cross our fingers!!

Also, don’t forget Waddle N Swaddle in the Best Baby Boutique category!

Love These Kids, Dutchess County Children Photographer…

This isn’t my first run with this crew.  We have a history that goes way back.  But the last time was when little man was born, and that was the day I discovered the Knapp Sack.  We were able to dodge a rain storm that day, of course when didn’t it rain in August? And we managed a shoot on the docks without any kids, or myself, falling into the Hudson LOL!  I can’t share my favorite picture just yet, holiday’s are coming and we have a surprise for a certain someone special.

Return of My Favorite Redhead, Hudson Valley Child Photographer…

So yes, major set backs over here thanks to Miss Irene and the stealing of my power for WAY too long.  I am defiantly not a contestant for SURVIVOR.  I can’t even deal with having no access to the outside world or the internet. Yes, I love my modern technology.

A couple weeks ago, when the weather was rockin, I met up with my favorite redhead who defenatly challanged me in a creative way I really needed.  I tend to avoid certain shooting locations, due to overuse syndrome.  I am always out for new locations but when my clients insist on an old spot, I need to challenge myself t make it new to me.  And Miss V, thank you for that challenge, I needed it more than I knew.  I can’t wait for my next challenge!

A girl after my own heart!

Where The Green Fern Grows, Hudson Valley Child Photographer…

For so long I have been waiting to get my hands on this little guy.  I first met him a couple years ago in a Music Together class and for those of you familiar with Collage Hair and Color, you will probably recognize mommy.  I am so glad we waited till he was a tad older to do his pictures, he was so playful and interactive with me, making this session a dream. The grounds were perfect too, I enjoy hanging in a field of horses :)

And The Winners Are…

I will be in touch with all of you on how to claim your prizes.  CONGRATS!!!!

Weekend of “Classics” Continues…

My second “Classic” shoot was with one of my favorite families that I have been photographing for 4 years.  I can remember the first phone call I had with mommy back before we did our first shoot.  We were both new mommies and having to deal with having to go back to work and leaving our babies behind.  Every conversation I have with her, makes me feel like a better person.   Every minute I get to spend with this family is just an honor, and this little guy has no idea what he means to me.  And although he has yet to say one word to me, I got the biggest hug and smile I could ask for.  My heart was just happy the rest of the day.  Thank you again Bailey Family, it was a honor.  (Mommy, go get your tissues)
